QEI is hiring an Electrical Commissioning Technician based in the Pensacola area. You will support electrical and instrumentation commissioning on mission-critical and commercial projects — functional testing, issue tracking, documentation, and field coordination with the Cx team.
Local candidates only. We are prioritizing people who already live in / commute to the Pensacola area so we do not need to pay per diem or relocation.
What you’ll do- Support electrical commissioning activities (power distribution, emergency power, lighting controls, and related systems as assigned)
- Run and document functional / point-to-point checks under Cx lead direction
- Log deficiencies, track punch items, and close documentation packages
- Coordinate with trades, GC, and Owner’s Cx team on site
- Follow QEI safety requirements (NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, PPE)
- Hands-on electrical or I&C field experience (data center, industrial, pulp/paper, oil & gas, commercial, or similar)
- Comfort reading one-lines, panel schedules, and submittals
- Clear written documentation and issue logging
- Valid driver’s license; reliable transportation to Pensacola-area job sites
- OSHA 10 or 30 and NFPA 70E preferred (or willing to obtain)
- Airport / aviation facility electrical or commissioning experience is not required
- If you have it, call it out — it can increase the offer
Competitive pay based on experience. Airport / aviation facility background may bump compensation. Local hire — no per diem for Pensacola-area work.
