QUALIFICATIONS
- Required
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Education, or health education field or High School Diploma with a CPP (Certified Prevention Professional) or CPS (Certified Prevention Specialist) and experience
- Knowledge of drug information, prevention concepts, and education field
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Ability to manage multiple job tasks with continuously changing priorities
- Experience working with at-risk and culturally diverse population
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other computer related tasks

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional participation in outdoor community events. The position requires flexibility to work both standard and non-traditional hours as needed.
The employee must be able to engage with community members in-person and virtually for extended periods, remain stationary for prolonged periods, move throughout the office or other work locations as necessary, and regularly operate computer equipment in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with individuals, management, staff, and stakeholders while maintaining professional boundaries. The employee must also provide reliable personal transportation to and from the office and partner agency locations as needed to fulfill job-related responsibilities.

Provide direct support to community members by sharing information and resources related to substance use prevention, parenting education, and CDAC services to address risk and protective factors that promote healthy lifestyles. Assist the Director of Community Prevention and the Parenting for Prevention program needs. Responsibilities include coordinating contacts and arrangements, managing written and verbal communications, maintaining records, data, and reports, and providing professional reception services to community members, individuals, callers, visitors, and other organizations.
ESSENTALJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Disseminating referral and resource information, supporting program promotion and outreach efforts, coordinating follow-up activities, and assisting with the delivery of prevention and parenting education services.
- Coordinate and maintain effective communication with referral agencies, CDAC Parenting Specialist, and the Director of Community Prevention to support services, referrals, program implementation, and follow-up activities.
- Promote Parenting for Prevention, CDAC programs, substance ATOD and wellness information, to the community-at-large.
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and logistical support of CDAC-sponsored events, community outreach activities, workshops, educational displays, and other prevention initiatives as directed. Responsibilities include preparing material, coordinating event setup and operations, staffing informational booths at community outreach, health fairs, and events, and facilitating scheduled activities to promote community engagement and prevention education.
- Perform community outreach duties as assigned, serving as a primary point of contact for individuals, stakeholders, and community members. Answer and route incoming calls, provide accurate information regarding agency programs and services, and direct inquiries to appropriate staff or resources. Assist individuals in accessing community resources by making appropriate referrals and providing information on substance use treatment and recovery services, crisis support resources (including 211 and 988), and other human service programs as needed.
