JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager, leads our TYR North American accounting team operations. Beyond overseeing full-cycle accounting for our US entities, you will lead and mentor an onsite team to excellence. We are looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in the details of deep reconciliations and the complexities of project accounting, ensuring our operational reporting is precise.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Reporting and Closing:
Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements. - General Ledger & Reconciliations:
Maintain the general ledger, perform complex reconciliations and verify data accuracy. - Produce daily, monthly, and ad hoc cost, variance, and production reports, including gross margin analysis by customer, part, and job.
- Compliance & Audit:
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls. - Financial Analysis:
Assist with budgeting and forecasting - Management:
Supervise, train and review the work of the staff accounting team - Support internal controls, cost accounting policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Partner cross-functionally to identify inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, and enhance cost transparency.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives
- 5 or more years in accounting or financial analysis or business administration.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
- Certification: CPA or CMA is preferred but not required
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics GP, SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar).
- Proficiency in Excel and ability to analyze and manage large data sets.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and procedures in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Team player with a proactive and adaptable approach.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration
- Must be at least 18 years or older
