Position: Commercial Estimator / Project Manager

Description

Southwest Building Solutions is a fast-growing commercial and metal building contractor based in Arizona. We are building something significant — and we are looking for an experienced Commercial Estimator / Project Manager to help lead that growth.

This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for a seasoned professional who can own commercial estimating, manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, and help us build out our commercial division the right way.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Preparing accurate, detailed commercial estimates using historical cost data and current market pricing
  • Leading projects from bid through completion — schedule, budget, scope, and client communication
  • Reviewing blueprints, specifications, and contracts with precision
  • Participating in preconstruction planning and value engineering
  • Negotiating with vendors and subcontractors
  • Tracking project performance against estimates and identifying cost trends
  • Working directly with ownership on strategy, systems, and process improvements
  • Maintaining profitability targets and protecting margin

This role will evolve into a leadership position as the commercial division grows.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of commercial estimating and project management experience
  • Strong background in commercial construction (metal building experience strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High-level blueprint reading and takeoff skills
  • Proficiency with estimating and project management software
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of job cost control
  • Excellent communication and client management skills
