Lunch Aide Community Preschool
The job of LUNCH AIDE-COMMUNITY PRESCHOOL is done for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for organizing and directing age-appropriate activities for preschool age students; providing support in supervising playground and lunch period activities; assisting in maintaining a clean and safe learning environment for students.
Essential Functions:
- Assists the site teacher with appropriate activities by working with individual or small groups of children (e.g. games, art, music, science, language, nutrition, playground, washing hands, etc.) for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
- Attends meetings and in-services for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
- Communicates with school staff for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information required to perform job functions.
- Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. snack time, lunch time, group or individual games, playground activities, classroom, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Provides support in monitoring intervening, and redirecting student behavior for the purpose of improving the quality of student's outcome and encouraging student development.
- Provides one-on-one or small group activities (e.g. assisting during lunch, supervising lunch period activities, etc.) for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives under the direction of a teacher.
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources for the purpose of providing information and/or direction to other sources.
Marginal Functions:
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
