Community Outreach Assistant II (Pinal County)

Position Highlights The Community Outreach Assistant II will recruit/outreach, plan and develop, teach and deliver approved curriculum to limited income adults, families, and youth in Pinal County on the lifelong learning and improvement of life‑skills in nutrition, health, physical activity and home‑management practices.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Become knowledgeable in prescribed curriculums and materials to plan, deliver, and educate eligible program participants in nutrition, healthy living, physical activity, and related disciplines.
  • Implement pre‑ and post‑assessments for all program participants, log participant data into program databases, and monitor progress.
  • Maintain and complete all required forms for EFNEP and the University of Arizona.
  • Identify and recruit eligible adults, families, and youth by gathering preliminary data and information in the assigned geographic area.
  • Participate in all mandatory trainings and meetings for professional development.
  • Assist supervisor with establishing and maintaining contacts and partnerships with community programs and services to offer the nutrition education program, and maintain communication on participant progress.

Skills and Abilities
  • Able to recruit limited‑resource participants in the community.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and/or independently and respond positively to supervision.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and complete required program reports.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to work with various audiences and maintain cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity, accuracy, and professional judgment.
  • Ability to facilitate educational sessions.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements; travel to different locations in Pinal County to deliver the EFNEP nutrition classes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive per the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Compensation

Rate of Pay: $16.50 – $20.63 per hour;
Grade 3;
Full Time; 40 hours per week;
Non‑Exempt.
