The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role offers the unique opportunity to be involved in the full life cycle of new product development, from concept through production. As part of a small, collaborative team, you’ll work in our state‑of‑the‑art R&D facility in Phoenix, AZ.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participating in the design process from initial concept to final production for new products.
  • Utilizing Solid Works 3D CAD software to design components and assemblies.
  • Sourcing and specifying mechanical parts to meet design specifications.
  • Conducting failure analysis and troubleshooting mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Collaborating with external suppliers to coordinate design and manufacturing activities.
  • Building, assembling, and testing prototypes to validate designs.
  • Writing detailed design specifications and test reports.
  • Creating product testing and validation procedures.
  • Working closely with other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical designs into overall product requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEC).
  • Supporting manufacturing activities.
  • Traveling occasionally to visit suppliers and customers.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A hands‑on approach and willingness to work in the lab to build and test prototypes.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Required Knowledge and

Experience:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field).
  • 3+ years of experience with focus on product development.
  • Proficient with Solid Works or a similar 3D CAD tool.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings.
  • Experience with plastic and metal parts.
  • Ability to design jigs, fixtures and tools for product development and manufacturing.
  • Ability to work with shop tools to fabricate or modify prototypes.
Desirable Knowledge and

Experience:

The ideal candidate has experience or knowledge in some of the following areas.

  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Material properties and usage.
  • Manufacturing processes such as molding, casting, stamping, machining, and 3D printing.
  • Design for manufacturability principles.
  • Compliance standards such as UL and IEC.
