Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking an experienced facilities Architecture Engineer, responsible for planning, designing, and coordinating architectural aspects of Amkor’s OSAT factory and related facilities. This includes layout optimization, space planning, compliance with building codes, and integration of architectural elements with mechanical, electrical, and process systems. The role ensures functional, safe, and efficient facility designs aligned with corporate standards and sustainability goals.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants on building design and construction requirements to develop architectural designs and layouts for manufacturing, office, and support areas within the OSAT factory.
- Review and validate architectural drawings, specifications, and material selections.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and corporate standards.
- Support permitting processes for building construction and occupancy approvals.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines (MEP, process, utilities) to ensure integrated facility design.
- Optimize space utilization for production lines, clean rooms, and support areas.
- Oversee architectural aspects during construction, including site inspections and quality checks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of architectural plans and revisions.
- Incorporate sustainability and energy efficiency principles into facility design.
- Evaluate new technologies and materials for improved functionality and cost-effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in architectural design and coordination, preferably in industrial or semiconductor facilities.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, fire safety, and cleanroom design standards.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in software tools (AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, Bluebeam).
- Experience in design, construction, commissioning, and start-up preferred.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of IBC, IFC codes.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and awkward positions.
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and adjust heavy objects.
- Exposure to sharp, hot, and cold equipment.
- Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
- Ability to climb ladders, work at elevation, and in confined spaces with PPE.
This position will be based at the Arizona Tempe and Peoria sites during the Construction phase and will transition to Peoria for management during the Factory Operation phase.
