Civil Engineer

* Minimum of three years’ professional engineering experience or in a related field.
* Requires a working knowledge of Civil Engineering principles, specialized practices, equipment and procedures.
* Experience with municipal plan review and permit process.
* Experience with interpreting and applying local, state and federal standards/codes for preparation and review of engineering documents and reports.
* Experience and working knowledge of the land development process, including entitlement, permitting and construction phase.
* Drainage and Floodplain design experience.
* Perform engineering reviews of development projects to ensure compliance with code and design standards.
* Complete development engineering reviews including, but not limited to:
Grading and Drainage Plans, Water and Sewer Plans, Paving Plans, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Signing and Striping Plans, Streetlight Plans, Landscaping Plans, Streetlight and Maintenance Improvement Districts (MID & SLID), Preliminary and Final Plats, Drainage Reports, Water and Sewer Reports, and/or Soils Reports.
* Coordinate with both internal and external customers to review and process development projects from planning to permitting and the inspection stage.
* Attend meetings and clearly communicate engineering requirements to developers, engineers, planners, architects, city officials and the public.
