Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager responsible for leading the design, installation, commissioning, operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of electrical systems supporting Amkor’s OSAT factory. This includes high, medium and low-voltage power distribution, emergency power systems, lighting, facility infrastructure, and tool hook-up systems. This role provides technical and organizational leadership to a team of engineers and technicians while ensuring reliable, safe, and efficient electrical power delivery to support manufacturing and cleanroom operations.
Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will evolve throughout the project lifecycle, ranging from design and commissioning to full-scale operations, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to each phase.
- Lead and develop a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and contractors supporting facility operations and projects.
- Collaborate with electrical design consultants to ensure system requirements, design standards, and business objectives are met.
- Review and approve electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction deliverables.
- Provide leadership during construction, commissioning, startup, and system validation activities.
- Drive resolution of electrical system issues and abnormalities during construction, startup, and operations.
- Establish and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical infrastructure.
- Lead operation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems, Arc Flash Studies, switch gear, transformers, UPS systems, and emergency generators.
- Monitor system performance, reliability, and capacity while developing strategies to support future manufacturing growth.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, environmental requirements, and corporate guidelines.
- Lead electrical safety programs including Arc Flash compliance, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
- Partner with manufacturing, facilities, and construction teams to optimize electrical system performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
- Develop and manage capital improvement projects, sustaining projects, and operating budgets related to electrical infrastructure.
- Manage team performance, project execution, schedules, and expenditure.
- Conduct system evaluations and implement reliability, capacity, and efficiency improvement through capital and expense projects.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, standards, operating procedures, and maintenance records.
- Apply reliability engineering principles, including FMEA, root cause analysis, and failure investigations to improve system performance and reduce downtime.
- Support long-range facility planning and infrastructure expansion to meet business objectives.
- Provide technical leadership and emergency response support during critical electrical events and facility outages.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical systems engineering, facility operations, design, construction, or commissioning, preferably in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.
- 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or project management experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems, switch gear, transformers, UPS systems, emergency power systems, and power quality management.
