General FunctionsIn collaboration with the Production Stage Manager, the Stage Manager oversees, coordinates, and participates in the Rehearsals, Technical Rehearsals, Performances, and Production Meetings of a given production. This includes but is not limited to the Main Stage Season, Theatre for Young Audiences, Academy, Encore Room Series, ABT Special Events, and Outside Events.
The Stage Manager creates, maintains, and distributes all necessary information to all Production Department Heads and Administrative personnel.
Duties + Responsibilities- Manage and supervise the rehearsal, tech, and performances of a given production.
- Create and distribute all required paperwork and documentation.
- Create, distribute, and post all guest artist information.
- Act as liaison between ABT staff and guest artists.
- Maintain archival documentation for each production.
- Sanitize costumes nightly according to health guidelines.
- Call all performances of a given production, including the operation of the lighting board (Performances only. Not during technical rehearsals).
- Support and maintain the artistic vision of ABT and the creative team.
- A working knowledge of all aspects of the theatre; technical and performance.
- Excellent communication skills; written, oral, and visual.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and time management skills.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate the activities of large groups of people towards a common purpose.
- Ability to work productively and meet deadlines during the creative process.
- Ability to meet professional standards and possess professional experience in commercial and/or regional professional theatre.
- Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of professional experience OR five (5) years of professional experience in a similar position.
