Water Conservation Specialist

Peoria's Water Conservation and Sustainability Division is looking for an energetic go-getter to join our team. This position works in a fast-paced, close-knit team that works with all types of water customers and regional partners to advance conservation. Each day can be different, and working on a dynamic team fosters individual growth while navigating a changing environment that is crucial to our community.

This position would be responsible for performing activities related to the Arizona Department of Water Resources' required water conservation programs, Sustainable U education, related city event staffing, data tracking, leading commercial programs, assisting with research and interdepartmental collaboration, and conducting landscape consultations. Duties may also include completing related tasks as assigned to meet the goals and objectives outlined in the City's Sustainable Peoria Plan and the Water Conservation Plan.

Some nights and weekend work are required.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Great attention to detail and organizational skills
• Public presentation and/or teaching skills
• Knowledge of Arizona water sources
• Knowledge of plants and outdoor watering
• The ability to work outdoors
• The ability to adapt to a changing work environment
• Demonstrated experience in Microsoft and Excel
• Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and desire to learn and understand
