Aggregate Equipment Operator
The Aggregate Equipment Operator is expected to perform tasks required to safely and efficiently operate fixed and mobile equipment typically used in an aggregate plant (including but not limited to: crushers, screens, washing equipment, loaders, off road trucks, excavators, bull dozers).
Responsibilities:
- Learn and follow all Cal Portland policies
- Knows and uses appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times
- Performs safety/quality/mechanical inspections of the plant and mobile equipment
- Addresses any housekeeping issues within the work area
- Operates loaders, excavators, haul trucks, skid steers, bull dozers
- Understands the process flow of the plant
- Regularly monitors performance all pieces of the plant within the process
- Accurately completes and maintains (maintenance, environmental, safety & production) reports and compliance records
- Successfully completes and maintains Method 9 Emissions certification
- Works irregular and extended hours and weekends to meet customer requirements and or maintenance within the facility
- Understands MSHA rules and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
High school diploma/GED

Qualifications:
- Physical requirements:
stand, walk, climb, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, drive and lift up to 100 pounds - Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and have reliable transportation to work
- Able to work in wet and /or dry conditions and extreme heat and cold
- Has good communication, problem solving and leadership skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, works well with others
- Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, airborne particles and moderate to loud noises, requiring the consistent use of appropriate PPE
- Knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of crushers, wash plants, conveyors, material washers, and various other types of fixed and mobile equipment used in the aggregate industry
- Knowledge of the equipment and methods used in the production process, and related aspects of materials storage, handling, and distribution of aggregates
- Experience as a heavy equipment operator including loaders, bull dozers, off road trucks and excavators
- Current MSHA Training Certification preferred
Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing. For work that will be performed in the San Francisco area, qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for employment.
