Summary of Position:

The Cut Room Bandsaw Operator is responsible for cutting armor plates to specification using a bandsaw in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This position requires consistent adherence to safety protocols, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Operators are expected to maintain equipment, ensure cut quality, and meet daily production targets.

• Operate a bandsaw to cut ballistic plates and raw material according to cut lists and production schedules.
• Use a belt sander as needed to smooth edges and ensure cut quality.
• Inspect raw materials and finished cuts for defects or deviations from specifications.
• Wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirator mask, gloves, and eye protection, throughout the shift.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the bandsaw and work area.
• Accurately record quantities, part numbers, and job information on production paperwork or digital tracking systems.
• Work closely with the Cut Room Supervisor to prioritize work and support production flow.
• Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

• 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment preferred.
• Prior experience operating a bandsaw or similar cutting machinery is a plus.
• Must be able to wear a respirator for extended periods.
• Ability to stand for 10 hours per shift and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
