Summary of Position:

The Shield Assembly Technician supports the production and fulfillment of shields and dolly systems by preparing materials, requesting components needed to complete manufacturing orders, assembling finished products, and assisting with sales order fulfillment. This role also provides cross-functional production support as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare backers and related components for spray coating processes.
  • Request, gather, and stage materials required to complete manufacturing orders.
  • Assemble shields and dolly systems according to work instructions, drawings, and production requirements.
  • Support the filling and completion of sales orders related to shields and dolly systems.
  • Inspect materials and finished assemblies for completeness and quality.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of manufacturing orders and sales order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Control, Production, and other departments to ensure required materials and components are available.
  • Assist in packaging, labeling, and preparing completed shields and dolly systems for shipment.
  • Provide support to other operational teams, including Autoclave, TPU, and Press, based on production needs.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas in support of 5S and general workplace organization.
  • Communicate production issues, shortages, quality concerns, or delays to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of manufacturing operations.
Qualifications:
  • Prior manufacturing, assembly, production, warehouse, or materials handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, job travelers, and basic production documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, and move frequently throughout the facility. Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to work in warehouse and production environments, which may include exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures.
