Operating room/perioperative care
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases for surgical patients.
- Review patient history, physical exam, and available diagnostics; identify abnormalities and communicate findings to the physician and care team; perform ongoing reassessment as needed.
- Formulate and adjust an individualized plan of care and discharge plan with input from patient and family; establish realistic, measurable goals.
- Implement the plan of care, coordinate and supervise activities of the healthcare team, and ensure clear, timely handoffs and documentation.
- Document assessment, plan, interventions, and patient response in the electronic health record; maintain accuracy, legibility, and timely updates.
- Education:
Associate degree or diploma in nursing (higher degrees welcomed). - Licensure:
Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure. - Certifications:
BLS and ACLS required; PALS within 90 days of start date if pediatrics services are involved. - Experience:
Core FT/PT: minimum one year licensed RN experience in OR (other procedural areas considered with approval). RN with no OR experience may enroll in the Peri Op
101 program with successful completion within 4 months. New licensed RNs may enroll in Peri Op
101 with successful completion within 4 months. PRN: minimum two years RN OR experience. - Special requirements:
Ability to work in the operating room/perioperative environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Dedicated assignment support from the recruiting team throughout the assignment.
- Credentialing and onboarding assistance to help facilitate a timely start.
- 24/7 recruiter and travel support to address needs during the assignment.
