Travel Neuro RN – 12-Hour Nights | Peoria, IL – 13-Week Travel Assignment
Location:
Peoria, IL 61637 – Level 1 trauma center acute neuro med-surg (54 beds).
Specialty:
Neurology. Discipline: RN.
Start Date:
ASAP. Duration: 13 weeks (4/27/2026 – 7/27/2026). Shift: 12-hour nights. Hours per week: 36 guaranteed.
Estimated weekly pay: $2,130 – $2,250 (Travel RN pay).
Employment type:
Travel. Charting system: EPIC (electronic charting experience required). Weekend requirement: every other weekend. Holiday requirement: every other holiday.
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care for patients with neurological conditions including stroke, spine surgery, seizures, brain tumors, and head injuries.
- Perform focused neuro assessments and manage neuro-specific therapies, including titration of heparin drips.
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team: charge nurses, house supervisors, physicians, and patient care techs.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in EPIC.
- Float to other hospital units as required, delivering care within your scope of practice.
- Participate in a comprehensive 2-day orientation with educator and preceptor support to ensure a safe transition into the unit. Orientation consists of 12 hours and is not included in guaranteed hours.
- Adhere to hospital policies related to professional appearance, safety, and patient care standards.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (or proof of application in process).
- Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required.
- Minimum 1 year recent neuro unit experience (dedicated Neuro Med-Surg).
- Level 1 trauma experience required; experience with high‑acuity neuro patients preferred.
- Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers).
- Clinical skills: heparin titration based on PTT, neuro assessments, seizure and stroke care.
- Ability and willingness to float to other inpatient units as needed.
- Negative drug screen required (OSF is a drug-free campus).
