Role DescriptionThis full-time Registered Nurse role is an on-site position located in Peoria, AZ. The Registered Nurse will provide direct pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care to patients in an ambulatory surgery setting, following established protocols and safety standards. Daily responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, reviewing histories and medications, starting IVs, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs throughout the perioperative process. The nurse will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other clinical staff to coordinate care, maintain accurate documentation in medical records, and support patient and family education regarding procedures and recovery.
Additional duties include adhering to infection control practices, participating in quality improvement activities, and assisting with emergency responses as needed.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. - Clinical expertise in perioperative or ambulatory surgery nursing, including patient assessment, IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring of vital signs and patient status.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, sterile technique, and safety protocols within surgical and recovery areas.
- Strong documentation and electronic health record (EHR) skills, with attention to accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary clinical teams and engaging with patients and families in a clear, respectful manner.
- Ability to manage multiple patients, prioritize tasks, and remain calm and organized in fast-paced or urgent situations.
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center, operating room, or PACU setting preferred.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program; ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional development.
