This position is responsible for triaging of patients to determine proper next steps of the patient's care. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing administrative support by performing and completing various departmental tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES- Follows Triage Protocols, policies, and procedures to include answering and routing phone notes.
- Processes pre-op outpatient labs and enters pre-hydration orders if needed, routes to the Advanced Practice Providers for review and signature.
- Processes home health and hospice requests.
- Processes all notification forms from insurance companies and pharmacies.
- Assist the echo department with bubble studies and EFT testing.
- Performs all daily departmental tasks such as phone notes, voicemails, flags, refills, cardiac and dental clearance, ect.
- Responds to all emergent situations and CODE calls and follow policy when disposing of biohazardous materials, labeling, and handling of all materials.
- Other duties as assigned per the need of the organization and within the scope of licensure.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Skill with the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Ability to work in a fast paced-environment and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others.
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College of Nursing.
- Valid and current Arizona Nursing License Required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful nursing practice.
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent cardiology experience preferred.
- Experience using an Electronic Medical Record System (EMR).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
