Charge Nurse; RN; Emergency Department

Role:
Emergency Department Charge Nurse (RN) responsible for coordinating departmental activities, staff scheduling, and ensuring quality patient care in a fast-paced ED setting.

• Providing patient care aligned with standards and supervising RNs, LPNs, and CNAs based on patient needs and staff competencies.
• Managing daily staffing, training, mentoring staff, and overseeing orientation and competency completion.
• Acting as a liaison to internal and external customers, ensuring professional conduct, and tracking customer service performance.
• Developing and implementing plans to meet regulatory requirements and participating in continuous improvement.
• Handling high-stress decision-making independently and effectively managing departmental resources and budget.

• Registered Nurse license in the state, CPR, ACLS, and other certifications as required by department.
• Minimum of two years relevant clinical nursing experience, with specialization depending on department needs.
• Effective communication skills, ability to implement change, and manage departmental operations.
• Preferred: BSN, management experience, and specialty certifications.
