Position: Laborer 1 @ Vistancia Landscape Operations

Employment Status: Full Time

Pay Range: $16-$18 per hour

Dept.: Landscape

Trilogy at Vistancia: Golf Club & V's Taproom. Trilogy at Vistancia is comprised of three feature club experiences, the golf club, the original community centerpiece, Kiva Club, and the recently introduced Mita Club. The golf course, the feature restaurant, V's Taproom, the full-service Alvea Spa, and the events & weddings venue are all available to the public.

Where: Peoria, 40 minutes west of Scottsdale & northwest of downtown Phoenix, Arizona

Benefits: New hourly full‑time team members working 30 hours or more per week will be eligible for the Company medical, dental, and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full‑time employment. Full‑time team members are eligible to accrue paid time off ("PTO") at a rate of 120 hours per year and for 7 paid holidays annually.

Part‑time team members are eligible to accrue paid sick leave in accordance with state guidelines. All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after 30 days of service.

Position Overview

As a member of the Landscape Maintenance Team, the Laborer 1 position is responsible for the upkeep and manicuring of all landscaped areas and hardscapes within the community. This is an entry‑level position that accepts direction from the Crew Leader, Foreman, and Superintendents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs upkeep and manicuring of all landscaped areas and hardscapes within the community.
  • Follow directions and perform tasks given under the supervision of the Foreman, Superintendent, and Assistant Superintendent.
  • Work in a safe manner and use all personal protective equipment (safety gear) assigned.
  • Be aware of safety requirements and report unsafe conditions or accidents to supervisor.
  • Communicate daily with supervisors to report challenges about work tasks, concerns about the landscape, or maintenance suggestions to improve efficiency.
  • Perform daily vehicle refueling, reloading of materials, and vehicle inspection as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain and clean all equipment daily and promptly report equipment issues to mechanic or supervisor.
  • May occasionally be requested to work overtime or during the weekend to assist during special events when extra labor is required (i.e. weddings, tours, openings, etc.).
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications / Skills
  • There are no minimum education requirements for this position.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Work Environment

This position works in an outdoor environment.

  • There may be frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Outdoor environments may require parking and working in residential areas. Obstacles include, but are not limited to, pedestrians and city street traffic, walking while carrying equipment or driving a vehicle on property pathways or variable terrain, water, plants and the natural landscape. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, and falls.
