Overview
Position Title: Irrigation Technician
The City of Peoria Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an Irrigation Technician for the Sports Complex, Neighborhood Parks and Community Parks. This is a full time, benefitted position that will provide irrigation repair, maintenance, and programming to parks across our city. If you are a hard worker that possesses extensive irrigation experience and loves to contribute to a team atmosphere, this is an outstanding opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities- Programming and operating computerized central control systems (experience with Cal Sense is preferred)
- Understanding and adhering to objectives and goals to meet water budgets and restrictions
- Maintaining irrigation supplies and equipment
- Operating and maintaining irrigation motors and pumps
- Performing regular and preventative maintenance on complex irrigation systems
- Maintaining parks and open space, irrigation systems, turf, trees, and plants
- High school graduation or equivalency.
- 2-4 years’ of previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
- Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally.
- Valid AZ Drivers’ License upon hire.
- Backflow Assembly Certification within six (6) months of hire.
- Water Audit Certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
- Parks or sports field experience.
- Municipal irrigation or landscape maintenance experience.
- Possess considerable independent and professional judgement.
- Be willing to work flexible schedules to meet the demands of the position.
