About Luna Vet Care

Luna provides in-home euthanasia for pets, helping families say goodbye with their pet comfortable, at home, surrounded by the people who love them. If you've felt the toll of high-volume clinical work or in-hospital end-of-life care, this role is built differently: one family at a time, no waiting room, no rush.

What a Day Looks Like

You set your availability in the app. We match you with appointments and pair you with a veterinary technician for support and setup. You drive to the family's home, provide compassionate in-person euthanasia care, and handle the medical side. We handle booking, payment, and client communication before and after the visit.

Compensation & Structure

  • Independent contractor (1099), not a W-2 position. You're responsible for your own taxes and benefits; this role does not include health insurance or paid time off.
  • Paid per appointment. Annual earnings range from $200,000-$225,000 depending on the schedule you set.
  • Guaranteed pay increases each year for the first 2 years to grow with Luna.
  • You supply your own vehicle and medical supplies, including euthanasia solution.

What You'll Do

  • Provide in-home euthanasia with professionalism, compassion, and calm under emotional circumstances
  • Work alongside a veterinary technician who assists with setup, sedation, and family support
  • Communicate clearly and gently with grieving pet owners
  • Complete accurate medical records and controlled substance logs for each visit
  • Manage your own driving schedule and route within your chosen coverage area
  • No surgery, no hospitalized patients, no emergency call rotation. Your caseload is exclusively scheduled, in-home euthanasia visits.

What You Need

  • Active, unrestricted veterinary license in Arizona (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Active DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one, for administering controlled substances
  • 2+ years of small animal clinical experience
  • Comfortable performing euthanasia in home settings, without the equipment or backup of a clinic
  • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance
  • Your own medical supplies and euthanasia solution
  • Own professional liability/malpractice insurance, or willingness to obtain it
  • Able to lift up to 60 lbs when assisting with larger pets

What We Provide

  • A trained veterinary technician on every appointment
  • Client scheduling, payment processing, and day-of coordination

Why Vets Choose This Work

  • No nights, no on-call: full schedule flexibility, you're never on standby for emergencies
  • No appointment quota minimums or upselling: work as much or as little as you'd like with no pressure to push services or products on pet parents
  • Flexible schedule: work one day a week or five, your call
  • No overhead: no clinic to run, no staff to manage, no inventory to buy
  • Meaningful, focused work: one family and one pet at a time
  • Team support: never do a visit alone

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $ - $ per year

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule

Application Question(s):

  • Do you hold an active, unrestricted veterinary license in Arizona, or are you eligible to obtain one before your start date?
  • Do you have, or are you eligible to obtain, a DEA registration for administering controlled substances?
  • Do you have a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license?
  • Tell us a bit about your interest in at-home end-of-life care.
  • Please list 2-3 dates and time ranges when you could do an interview.
