Overview
Sr. UX Researcher position at Caterpillar, Inc., based in Peoria, AZ. Oversee end‑to‑end UX research, collaborate cross‑functionally to shape strategy and product design for global audiences.
Responsibilities- Partner with design, product, and marketing teams to understand business needs and design appropriate research studies.
- Design and conduct a variety of user research methods (surveys, in‑depth interviews, field studies, focus groups, concept/prototype testing).
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Work with other researchers and data analytics to create coordinated research strategies that triangulate data from multiple sources.
- Deliver research findings with strong recommendations.
- Collect and analyze user behavior from server logs, online experiments (A/B testing), benchmark studies, lab studies, and surveys to understand how users experience online searches.
- Prioritize research opportunities in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Identify and prioritize research questions based on analysis of existing product designs, business needs, project goals, and risks.
- Communicate results and opportunities in clear, concise, compelling ways to all management levels.
- Drive impact measured by changes to product and service design and development roadmap.
- Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Cognitive Science, Information Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant work experience integrating user research into product and service designs.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating past work, deliverables, and ability to extract actionable insights from qualitative data.
- Balanced understanding of strategy, research, and interaction.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
- Experience conducting customer research in an applied setting.
- Strong command of quantitative, behavioral analysis and statistics.
- Experience with standard market research tools.
- Strong in both physical and digital customer research.
- Excellent knowledge of statistics and experimental design principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Strong presentation skills; ability to tell stories across all levels.
- Familiarity with quantitative methods.
- Adaptability to change direction based on team and stakeholder consensus.
