Youth Sports Site Lead​/Official

Overview

Hutchinson Utilities seeks qualified applicants for the position of Lineman. Duties include installation/maintenance of all overhead & underground facilities, transformers, streetlights, control systems & other equipment, and responding to outages & other emergencies.

Minimum experience required:

• Lineman I – 3 years experience in the position of Lineman II or equivalent
• Lineman II – 4 years as an apprentice or equivalent in training & work experience

• Aptitude in instrument control & maintenance
• Working knowledge of electricity, capable of working all system voltages
• Thorough knowledge of transformer connections, testing & troubleshooting/addressing problems with the distribution system
• Pole climbing/working from aerial devices

Desirable certificates: either

• Completion of home study courses or equivalent on basic electricity/fundamentals of electricity/mathematics for electrical trades, I.C.S. transformers/transformer operation/distribution & power transformers, electric power substation (2 units), line voltage regulators, & instrument transformers
• Or an accredited line person course

Requires a valid, Class A commercial driver’s license.

Position works a regular 40 hr. work week, subject to the provisions of the HUC Employee Handbook & labor agreement in effect, is included in the standby duty rotation, and may be subject to unscheduled hours for outages/emergencies or contingencies. Includes inside/outside work in all weather conditions.

Pay range $19.54/hr to $27.41/hr per the Union Contract. Pay rate dependent upon designation as Line person II or Line person I based on experience & qualifications.
