Diesel Mechanic Job Summary

Our company is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our trucking fleet. While this role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, our ideal candidate is also comfortable working as a technician who can diagnose and repair technology issues in newer trucks. In addition to making repairs, you will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on diesel engines, brakes, transmission, and other systems.

Applicants must have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and pass a pre‑employment drug test.

• Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines
• Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering, and other systems
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace
• Complete work safely, correctly and timely

• High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
• Valid driver's license (CDL strongly preferred)
• Diesel technician or mechanic degree is a plus
• Experience with diesel engine repair
• Welding experience (preferred)
• Own your own tools
• Excellent work ethic and good attitude
• Ability to work nights & weekends
• General knowledge and experience in truck/trailer repair and operations
• Professional, self‑motivated, and ambitious
• Applicant must also have experience with repairs such as brakes, clutches, air conditioning and other mechanical components

• This position performs repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance on diesel powered trucks, tractors and trailers.
• Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the truck and trailer repair field.
• The applicant must also be able to troubleshoot and analyze mechanical, electrical, and other types of problems whether single or a combined tractor‑trailer unit.
• Welding – a plus

Sun Valley Fleet Service is a full service diesel truck and trailer repair facility that has been in business for over 30 years, serving the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

Our hours are great! – Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
