Lead Mobile Diesel Technician – DOT Management

Position:
Lead Mobile Diesel Technician.

Location:

City, State, or region (remote possible with local residence). Travel: 100% of the time. Shift: Day. Compensation: $35.58 – $53.37 per hour, hourly base pay with potential for commission, monthly, or incentive programs.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and licensed DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, transmission, clutch, differential, and hydraulic components.
• Conduct advanced diagnostics, triage complex repairs, and perform associated electronic or HVAC repairs.
• Lead jobsites and interact directly with customers, managing expectations and communications.
• Mentor Mobile Diesel Technicians I/II/Sr, guiding them on best practices and troubleshooting.
• Manage parts inventory and equipment, maintain service truck and perform safety inspections.
• Document work on company iOS devices, complete DOT forms, and upload repair orders using the TRAIT application.
• Support Mobile Technician Manager in their absence and help with quality‑control inspections.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety policies.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED (or higher degree/certification) and at least 7 years experience, or an alternative combination of education and 5–9 years experience.
• Valid driver's license with state of residence, safe‑driver status, and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Successful completion of a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical (or a valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining).
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, and perform moderately heavy labor for extended periods.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and judgment skills.
