Position Summary

Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking a facilities electrical technician responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical power distribution systems that support facility operations. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of low‑voltage and medium‑voltage electrical infrastructure, including switch gear, panel boards, transformers, generators, and emergency power systems. The technician supports construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations to ensure all electrical systems meet safety codes, performance expectations, and site reliability standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Establish and Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution equipment including switch gear, MCCs, panel boards, breakers, disconnects, transformers, UPS units, and emergency generators.
  • Inspect and maintain grounding systems, bonding conductors, cable trays, bus ducts, and protective devices.
  • Conduct electrical testing such as insulation resistance, continuity checks, torque verification, load measurements, and IR thermography.
  • Ensure all sets (megger, clamp meters etc) are maintained and calibrated
  • Troubleshoot faults in power circuits, motor circuits, breakers, relays, and facility electrical distribution components.
  • Respond to electrical emergencies, power disturbances, and equipment trips to restore operations safely and efficiently.
  • Support installation of conduit, wiring, cable pulls, junction boxes, breakers, receptacles, and panels according to electrical codes and site standards.
  • Assist contractors and engineering teams during construction, startup, and commissioning of facility electrical systems.
  • Verify labeling, phasing, torquing, and proper installation of all new electrical equipment.
  • Follow all NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and OSHA electrical safety requirements including arc‑flash boundaries, PPE, and LOTO procedures.
  • Maintain accurate electrical documentation, panel schedules, breaker lists, and maintenance records through the CMMS platform.
  • Participate in safety inspections, electrical audits, and risk assessments to ensure full compliance.
  • Conduct routine electrical rounds to assess system status, identify hazards, and verify normal equipment operation.
  • Support system startups and shutdowns, load transfers, and power restoration activities.
  • Work with other facilities teams (HVAC, mechanical, utilities) on cross‑functional maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, when electrical support is needed.
Required Qualifications

Strong working knowledge of low‑voltage (

  • 3+ years of industrial or commercial electrical maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical single‑line diagrams, wiring schematics, and panel schedules.
  • Proficiency with electrical test instruments and safe electrical work practices.
  • Experience using CMMS systems for work orders and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyman electrician license or equivalent technical certification.
  • Experience with medium‑voltage equipment (4kV–15kV) including safe switching procedures.
  • Prior experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or data‑center environments.
  • NFPA 70E training or electrical safety certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and awkward positions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in mechanical spaces, rooftops, and equipment rooms.
  • Exposure to sharp, hot, and cold equipment.
