Minimum Requirements:
Education:
High school graduation or equivalency. Preferred – High School plus some technical or advanced courses.
Experience:
1 year experience. Moderate previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
Physical Demands:
Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort.
Licenses and
Certifications:
Valid driver’s license at hire.
A valid Arizona Class “A” or “B” Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker or other endorsement within 6 months of hire.
Tell me more…..The City of Peoria’s Streets Division is looking for hard working individuals to fill the Transportation Technician I position in the Signs and Striping Unit. The successful candidate will join a team that places over 800 miles of long-line striping a year, and maintains over 24,000 traffic signs.
Experience with traffic maintenance to include striping, traffic sign fabrication, or sign installation is a plus. This labor-intensive position will need someone who enjoys working outdoors, and can meet the physical demands listed in our job description.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
A passion for working outdoors in the elements.
Working knowledge of basic and advanced construction practices.
Great attitude and the ability to work within a team structure, and perform solo tasks as required
Valid Arizona Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement
