$21.50 – $23.50 per hour
Specialties / Licenses or Certifications- Successful completion of Peer Employment Training and certification as a Peer Support Specialist.
The Peer Support Specialist II provides support and recovery training to individuals receiving services, assists in creating a recovery environment, and advocates for the needs and rights of every individual.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Guest Care & Advocacy:
Provides peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership; assists in identifying participant’s hopes and dreams and the solutions they are seeking. - Teaches recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
- Models hope, personal responsibility, and self‑advocacy to demonstrate how recovery goals can be respectfully met and a belief in self is maintained.
- Assists in developing natural supports and community living.
- Cultivates connectedness in the person’s life (self, others, the environment, and to meaning and purpose).
- Compliance &
Risk Management:
Completes clinical documentation as required. - Keeps abreast of federal, state regulations, laws and Recovery Innovations policies and procedures.
- Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as outlined in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
- Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Coordinates with the individual’s clinical team and other supports to arrange services or resources to help the individual achieve their goals. - Additional Duties:
Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. - Certifications:
Peer Employment Training certification. - Experience:
Lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use services. - Skills:
Basic computer skills; ability to teach/train recovery information and tools; effective communication; must pass de‑escalation training as defined by state requirements. - Driving Requirements:
If driving is required, must meet all Recovery Innovations driving policy requirements; otherwise submit a Non‑Driver Attestation form. - Miscellaneous:
Minimum age 18 unless state regulations specify otherwise; willingness to travel; maintain confidentiality (HIPAA); able to pass a seven‑year background check; substance abuse testing; fingerprinting clearance; education verification; motor vehicle report if driving required. - State‑specific requirements may include additional age, licensing, or vaccination requirements. Work may involve close visual tasks, wrist and hand motions, finger dexterity, eye‑hand‑foot coordination and color vision. Lifting up to 20 pounds may be required.
Work EnvironmentWork may be performed in an office or behavioral health facility, or remotely via phone. Contact with agitated or confused individuals may occur.
