Position Title

Equipment Operator (Solid Waste)

The City of Peoria Public Works Department is seeking an Equipment Operator for the residential collection division.

• Heavy equipment in the completion of assigned tasks such as excavating, trenching, street cleaning, and delivering refuse and recycling materials to the landfill.
• Experience with various types of solid waste equipment, including front load, side load, rear load, and roll‑off collection vehicles.
• Proficiency with an articulated tractor.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• At least 9-12 months of experience in a similar or related position.

• This role requires heavy physical exertion and effort.

• A valid Arizona Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required at the time of hire.
• Depending on the assignment, a Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and/or Tanker and HazMAT endorsements may be required within 12 months of hire.
