The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for a variety of duties related to the efficient processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes receiving, inspecting, and distributing all incoming packages, raw materials, and finished goods, as well as preparing items for shipment according to established procedures and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Arrange for pick-up by specified carriers.
- Utilize experience in high-volume distribution and familiarity with various carriers such as Fed Ex, UPS, USPS, and freight forwarders.
- Process domestic and international shipments, including the preparation of commercial invoices, NAFTA certificates, HS codes, and other required import and export documentation.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of shipping materials and proactively submit requisitions for replenishment to the Department Supervisor for approval.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and ensure adherence to prescribed safety regulations.
- Verify and maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment accurately.
- Determine the most appropriate shipping methods based on knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Affix shipping labels to packed cartons securely and accurately.
- Route received items to the appropriate departments promptly.
- Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet all specifications and quality standards.
- Perform other shipping and receiving duties as assigned.
- Ability to actively listen, learn quickly, and communicate effectively with Managers, Supervisors, and coworkers.
- Ability to follow instructions and take direction accurately.
- Driven and self-motivated with the ability to manage daily tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
- Results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving targets and objectives.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and operational needs.
- Must be at least 18 years or older
- Must have a minimum of 1 years of relevant experience
- Preferably High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing operations environment preferred.
Work involves physical demands typically found in a manufacturing environment, such as but not limited to: prolonged standing, sitting, bending, walking for extended periods of time, lifting and/or moving material.
