Accounting Assistant, Bookkeeper/ Accounting Clerk
Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen, P.C., is a large, fast-paced law firm seeking a motivated, organized, and reliable individual for a full-time Accounting Clerk position in our Peoria office.
A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ACCOUNTING CLERK- As an Accounting Clerk, you will independently manage various accounting area processes using accounting software, billing sites, and other programs.
- You will spend most of your time independently managing accounts receivable and collections using accounting software and other programs. You will reliably and accurately handle accounts receivable for several office locations and vendors.
- You will excel at ensuring bills are paid in a timely and correct manner while adhering to departmental procedures. You will process due invoices for payments.
- Associate degree in Accounting and prior accounting experience preferred
- Previous work experience as an Accounting Clerk
- Exceptional computer skills working with Microsoft Office
- Must have hands‑on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Excellent understanding of basic bookkeeping principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Outstanding degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation and BenefitsThe base salary range is $17. to $21. an hour. The salary offered will take into account several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability and specialization, as well as business needs. The range may be modified in the future.
