Job Summary
Our growing CPA firm has an opening for a Bookkeeper. You will assist clients with bookkeeping projects and perform firm administrative tasks. We are looking for a team member who can demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational and client service skills, problem solving skills and the ability to work in a semi-autonomous manner. Familiarity with different accounting software packages will be a benefit to the candidate, and Quick Books experience is preferred.
Your specific responsibilities and duties include:
- Review accounting files and create adjusting entries to prepare reports for tax return preparation.
- Day-to-day general ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliations on client Quick Books files
- Assist with management of firm databases, project tracking and client communications
- Build and maintain client relationships and manage all aspects of the client engagement process
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
- Assist clients with Quick Books entries and accounting related matters
- Must have a strong ability to meet deadlines and be willing to work longer hours during tax season
This is a full-time position.
Our office is located near the intersection of Route 22 and Milwaukee Ave in Buffalo Grove(near Lincolnshire).
Qualifications and Skills
- 1 to 3 years of bookkeeping experience
- The ability to work independently and self organize/prioritize projects
- Experience working with Quick Books (Desktop and Online)
- Experience with Microsoft Office software
- General bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
- Ability to adapt and learn new software solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive approach to knowledge of software, processes, and workflows
