Tax Associate

As part of the accounting department, responsible for the calculation and filing of sales tax returns, maintaining and collecting sales tax exemption certificates, assisting customers in setting up tax exempt accounts.

• Collection of sales amounts from mail order and retail store locations and calculation of tax liability.
• Reviewing expense invoices for use tax liability.
• Filing and making payments for sales tax returns.
• Making journal entries and reconciling tax liability accounts with the tax returns and payments.
• Assisting with research and obtaining supporting documentation for sales tax audits.
• Processing tax exemption requests from customers.
• Managing sales tax exemption documents database, keeping the files up to date and entering in new and updated exemption certificates.
• Various additional filing requirements for city and county governmental agencies.

• Associate's degree in Accounting
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others internally and externally.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software with emphasis on Excel.
• Ability to work effectively with team members to accomplish desired goals, especially during peak times.

The pay range below is provided in compliance with state/city specific laws. This pay range applies to this location. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
