Job Summary

The Agent Contracting and Commissions Specialist I executes clearly defined assigned elements of the agent contracting relationship to ensure compliance and a strong customer service experience for our distribution partners. The ACC Specialist I works under the supervision of ACC management and with assistance from more senior members of the ACC team. The ACC Specialist I’s typical focus is on onboarding, licensing, appointments, and data quality and does not independently calculate or approve commission payments.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Review submitted agent onboarding documents to confirm accuracy and completeness
  • Process agent onboarding and system setup (producer records, hierarchy/override relationships, payee setup)
  • Validate licensing, appointments, and renewal status via NIPR/SIRCON and internal systems; update records accordingly
  • Process agent applications in accordance with department standards
  • Respond to agent inquiries and initiate agent correspondence regarding general administrative items and associated daily tasks
  • Process state billings, renewals and agent of record arrangements
  • Assist with compliance monitoring by reviewing and copying licenses, reconciling Company records with state insurance departments, processing necessary agent terminations and providing appropriate release letters as necessary to states
  • Support agent transitions due to death including, but not limited to, performing necessary system updates
  • Update internal systems as necessary including, but not limited to, agent appointments, renewals, or terminations as assigned
  • Provide necessary information for ACC team members to process commission payments or resolve standard commission discrepancies; does not perform independent commission calculations or adjustments
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the department to ensure timely processing of daily agent correspondence, agent appointments and/or contracting paperwork
  • Conduct other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred (or Illinois Mutual approved equivalency for internal applicants)
  • Strong initiative to complete tasks and provide proactive, critical thinking

Anticipated Salary

$42,000 - $45,000
