Overview

Primary duties involve general administrative office and clerical work, customer service, and data entry.

Work Hours

7:00 a.m.

- 11:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.

- 3:30 p.m. (19.5 hours weekly) Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Answer and direct telephone inquiries; operate a telephone switchboard and dispatch requests via two‑way radio; greet visitors; coordinate with other agencies.
  • Enter service request information into the work management system and close out work orders; familiarity with Hansen Work Management System is a plus.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and various documents using a typewriter and a personal computer; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Maintain paper and computerized filing systems; collect data for tracking.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings; type and file office correspondence and make photocopies when requested; support divisional staff with other clerical duties as needed.
  • Operate a standard vehicle to pick up mail and division supplies; process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Assist with the preparation of workman’s compensation claims and maintain compensation files.
  • Process Miss Utility paperwork.
  • Research information for the division, citizens, and other departments as requested.
  • Perform general mathematical computations.
  • Operate computer, typewriter, calculator, copy machine, facsimile machine, two‑way radio, and multi‑line telephone.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions; possess normal hearing and seeing capabilities; work primarily in front of a computer screen.
  • Stand, bend, lift, reach, and stoop to maintain files.
Qualifications
  • High‑school graduate with at least six months of clerical experience; or equivalent training and experience.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office; data‑entry experience preferred.
  • Excellent typing speed of at least 30 words per minute; typing test results not more than one year old must be attached to the application.
  • Valid driver’s license.
