Job DescriptionSummary:
The main function of a business operations specialist is to maintain vendor relationships, acting as a business analyst for non‑IT projects or filling organizational roles above an administrative level but below a management level. Other responsibilities may include maintaining all project management processes, including project goals, deadlines, metrics and budget. The business operations specialist usually reports to a project manager or director.
- Review and approve contracts, cost proposals, and contract supplements.
- Approve project and work‑breakdown structures.
- Review and approve documentation of business processes.
- Approve project budgets and expenditures; monitor transaction controls and costs against budgets.
- Predict potential budget overruns and offer solutions.
- Consult with corporate offices, project managers, auditors, clients, and sub‑consultant representatives regarding future proposals.
- Prepare sub‑agreements and review input sub‑consultant invoices to ensure contract compliance.
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Expert ability to work independently and manage time.
- Expert knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
- Expert ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles.
- Expert ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses.
- Previous experience with computer applications such as MS Word and Excel; enterprise application experience a plus.
- Analyze data sets, create process improvements, support category teams in capacity, create leadership summaries.
- Analyze existing tools and data to assess supplier capacity, performance trends, and risk exposure.
- Translate complex capacity data into actionable insights for leadership decision‑making.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of reporting and analytics.
- Support category management teams with initiatives to bridge capacity gaps, including A3 action items for Network Planning and Execution and Enterprise Capacity Requirements.
- Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders (procurement, supply chain, operations) to deliver actionable insights for decision‑making.
- Prepare clear, concise leadership summaries and executive‑ready reports highlighting risks, savings opportunities, and performance metrics.
- Track and report progress on all capacity‑related initiatives.
- Analyze data sets, create process improvements, support category teams in all capacity‑related topics, create leadership summaries.

- 10 years of experience and at least a Master’s degree.
- Degree requirement:
Bachelor’s or Master’s. - Internships accepted as job experience:
Yes. - Comparable background: buyer, purchasing professional, software development engineer.
