Job Summary

The Manager, Pricing Strategy will play a critical role in supporting the design, execution, and ongoing operation of pricing strategies. This role sits at the intersection of analytics, documentation, and project execution—ensuring pricing models are used correctly, enhancements are clearly specified, and cross‑functional initiatives move forward efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting Enablement & Job Aids
Own and maintain job aids and work instructions for Underwriters on proper use of pricing models.
Translate technical model logic into clear, practical guidance that supports consistent and accurate usage.
Partner with Pricing Strategy, Modeling, and Underwriting leadership to keep job aids aligned with the latest pricing approaches and enhancements.
  • Requirements Definition & Model Enhancements
Develop clear, structured requirements documents for IT and modeling teams to support enhancements to pricing models and related pricing tools.
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams—ensuring requirements are well understood, properly scoped, and aligned with pricing objectives.
Support prioritization and sequencing of enhancements across multiple in‑flight initiatives.
  • FAF Enhancement Intake & Governance
Complete and manage FAF enhancement intake forms for updates to client pricing documents.
Ensure submissions are complete, accurate, and aligned with approved pricing strategies before they move into downstream build or execution.
Track enhancement requests through review, approval, and implementation phases.
  • Communication & Initiative Tracking
Support structured communication tracking and follow‑up for key pricing initiatives (e.g., % of invoiced rebates).
Manage working groups, action logs, and status updates to ensure initiatives continue moving forward without relying on ad‑hoc follow‑ups.
Create lightweight governance and reporting discipline around open items, owners, and next steps.
  • Welcome Season & Quality Assurance
Provide quality checks during welcome season by reviewing client pricing documents and Underwriting model outputs for accuracy and consistency.
Identify issues early and coordinate corrections with Underwriting, Pricing Strategy, and Modeling teams.
Serve as an escalation point for pricing document or model inconsistencies.
  • Metric & Performance Tracking
Monitor and report on pricing model performance metrics, including adoption, usage accuracy, and financial outcomes.
Develop recurring tracking views that support leadership visibility and informed decision‑making.
Help identify trends, risks, or gaps that require follow‑up or model adjustments.
  • External Benchmarking & Pricing Comparisons
Perform pricing comparisons between Caremark pricing outputs and external reference points (e.g., Trump Rx / DTC pricing benchmarks).
Support pricing intelligence efforts by contextualizing internal pricing relative to market benchmarks.
Summarize findings in clear, decision‑ready formats for internal stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years experience working with pricing models, financial data, project management or healthcare / PBM analytics.
  • Experience translating complex technical concepts into plain‑language guidance.
Preferred Background Experience
  • Experience in pricing strategy, underwriting support, healthcare analytics, or PBM‑related roles.
  • Familiarity with PBM pricing models, rebate methodologies, or drug‑level price analysis.
  • Comfort interpreting model outputs, identifying anomalies, and validating assumptions.
  • Strong ability to produce clear, structured documentation (job aids, requirements, intake forms).
