JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant supports the daily maintenance, logistics, and operational needs of multiple facilities to ensure a safe, clean, welcoming, and functional environment for staff, clients, and visitors. This role is responsible for transporting donations, supplies, and program materials; assisting with warehouse inventory management; supporting facility event setup and teardown; and providing transportation and distribution support for seasonal and community outreach programs.
The position requires reliable transportation coordination, strong organizational skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks while supporting the organization's mission and service initiatives throughout the year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with day-to-day maintenance and operations of the various facilities to ensure safe, pleasing, and reliable environment for staff and clients
- Assist with the pick up of donations from various locations as needed
- Pick up and deliver supplies that may be purchased from various local vendors
- Make deliveries for various facilities of donated items to be distributed
- Work with supervisor and/or departments to setup and tear down for events
- Maintain an inventory of food items in the warehouse available to the Kitchen Manager
- Assist with seasonal/Christmas duties as needed; including but not limited to
- Delivery of coat barrels to locations as well as pick up coats
- Delivery of Angel Tree tags to organizations as needed
- Pickup and delivery of toys for distribution
- Delivery and pickup of barrels for food collection at organizations
- Delivery of food baskets to various locations
- Successfully satisfy the training requirements associated to the position and as required by The Salvation Army.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education

High School Diploma or equivalent. Significant experience may be considered in lieu of.
Experience
:
Previous experience in facilities, warehouse, delivery, maintenance, or logistics is a plus.
Skills/Abilities
- Valid MVR with a clear driving record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience or capacity to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and work as a cooperative team member.
- Close attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task several projects concurrently
- Must have an interest and ability to work with people of diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner.
- Ability to establish and implement policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in computer software applications, including demonstrated experience in using email, MS Office applications.
- This individual will only commit resources of The Salvation Army that have been allocated or approved.
- This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position. The individual will keep the designated Supervisor informed of all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

- To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use standard office equipment including a PC and regularly interact with the public and those served.
