How you make a differenceThe Dentist is responsible for providing dental services to inmate patients within the institution they are assigned to, while adhering to the security regulations of the facility. They maintain accurate and timely documentation of their services for compliance with client contracts and proper compensation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide dental care and treatment to referred patients in accordance with facility regulations and standards.
- Perform routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
- Evaluate patients’ dental care needs and make clinically appropriate recommendations.
- Takes impressions for dental appliances and instruct patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and provide in‑service training for health staff members.
Education
- Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.
Experience
- One year of experience in general dentistry preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Must have and maintain current licensure as a dentist within the state of employment.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR certification.
Position works Friday from 8 am – 2 pm at Peoria County Jail.
