Position OverviewAs a Pediatric Orthodontic Dental Assistant at West Valley Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, you will play a crucial role in assisting our orthodontists in providing exceptional care to our pediatric patients. Your primary responsibilities will include working closely with young patients, helping with orthodontic procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and offering a friendly and comforting atmosphere to ensure a positive experience for our young clientele.
Key Responsibilities- Assist orthodontists during dental procedures and treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for orthodontic procedures.
- Sterilize and maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
- Take digital impressions, X‑rays, and photographs as needed.
- Provide education and instructions to pediatric patients and their parents on proper orthodontic care and hygiene.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
- Assist with fitting and adjusting orthodontic appliances, such as braces and retainers.
- Monitor and track patient progress.
- Assist with scheduling and appointment coordination.
- Help maintain a welcoming and child‑friendly atmosphere in the office.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
- Prior experience working in a pediatric dental or orthodontic practice is preferred.
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, especially with children and adolescents.
- Empathetic and compassionate nature.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and sterile environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
