As a Pediatric Orthodontic Dental Assistant at West Valley Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, you will play a crucial role in assisting our orthodontists in providing exceptional care to our pediatric patients. Your primary responsibilities will include working closely with young patients, helping with orthodontic procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and offering a friendly and comforting atmosphere to ensure a positive experience for our young clientele.

• Assist orthodontists during dental procedures and treatments.
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for orthodontic procedures.
• Sterilize and maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Take digital impressions, X‑rays, and photographs as needed.
• Provide education and instructions to pediatric patients and their parents on proper orthodontic care and hygiene.
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
• Assist with fitting and adjusting orthodontic appliances, such as braces and retainers.
• Monitor and track patient progress.
• Assist with scheduling and appointment coordination.
• Help maintain a welcoming and child‑friendly atmosphere in the office.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
• Prior experience working in a pediatric dental or orthodontic practice is preferred.
• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and equipment.
• Excellent communication skills, especially with children and adolescents.
• Empathetic and compassionate nature.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and sterile environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
