Our client, a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm, is seeking a licensed Senior Project Architect with 15+ years of experience to lead complex, large‑scale projects. You’ll guide integrated design teams from concept through construction, delivering creative, technical solutions that align with client goals.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinating with the client to develop the design concept,
  • Leading the coordination of design efforts of a team of architects, engineers, and specialty consultants,
  • Managing project deliverables, budget, and schedule while maintaining a priority focus on quality,
  • Meeting with clients and their stakeholders to develop and refine the project designs,
  • Translating ideas and renderings into clear construction drawings and specifications that provide for buildable and cost-conscious designs,
  • Conducting product and material research,
  • Performing code analysis and incorporating relevant regulatory requirements into the design,
  • Preparing technical architectural details and/or ability to guide junior staff in detail development,
  • Conducting technical and quality reviews,
  • Assisting clients through the permitting process,
  • Leading the project team through the bid phase process,
  • Leading the project team through the construction administration phase,
  • Conducting field visits and site observations, and
  • Collaborating closely with other team members to ensure successful project delivery.

Additionally, the Senior Architect will be expected to participate in mentoring junior architects, assist with marketing proposal development, and assist in the management of quality assurance / quality control procedures.

Qualifications
  • U.S. Licensed Architect. NCARB Certified preferred.
  • LEED Accredited Professional
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in architectural design and project management.
  • Proficient in specification writing.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam.
  • Working knowledge of Revit applications in drawing production.
  • Proficient in using IBC, ADAAG, and IAC.
  • Proficient in the application of LEED pre-requisites and credits on projects.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Located in the Chicago area and able to be in the office four days a week.
  • Hands on proficiency in Revit drawing production is a strong plus.
  • Experience with construction phasing planning is a strong plus.
  • Experience working on Illinois Capital Development Board projects is a strong plus.
  • Experience with implementation of NFPA and OSHA criteria is a strong plus.
  • Experience with DoD security and building hardening standards is a strong plus.
  • City of Chicago Self-Certification credential is a strong plus.
