Position: Assistant/Associate/Professor-Pediatrics (Infectious Disease)

Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine – Peoria (UICOMP) seeks an Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Pediatrics specializing in Pediatric Infectious Disease. The faculty position requires clinical care, teaching medical students and residents, and research and scholarly activities. Protected time and a competitive start‑up package are available. The role is conducted at Children’s Hospital of Illinois and associated ambulatory clinics in a family‑oriented community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient clinical services for pediatric patients.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and other health professionals.
  • Conduct clinical and translational research in Pediatric Infectious Disease.
  • Participate in infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship committees.
  • Offer telephonic consultation for hospitals and pediatric offices across Illinois.
  • Guide clinical responses to community outbreaks (e.g., measles).
  • Perform additional duties related to research and departmental projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD/DO degree or equivalent.
  • Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible in Pediatric Infectious Disease (BC/BE).
  • Eligible to hold an Illinois physician license.
