Position SummaryThe Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria seeks a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist for a position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatrics to enhance a growing division. The role includes care of inpatients and outpatients with pediatric hematologic and oncologic conditions, including those at the OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood Disorder Institute.
Responsibilities- Provide inpatient and outpatient care for pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic diseases.
- See referral hematology/oncology consultations across Central Illinois, with a particular focus on leukemia and lymphoma.
- Fully participate in teaching programs for undergraduate medical students and residents and engage in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education within the department.
- Organize and conduct bench and/or clinical research in pediatric hematology/oncology.
- Participate in cooperative research efforts and clinical trials protocols through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) consortium.
- Perform general faculty duties including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration as needed.
- Engage in special projects and related duties assigned by the department.
- Eligible for licensure in Illinois.
- Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
- Three years of Pediatrics Residency and three years of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
- MD, DO, or equivalent.
- Experience and interest in leukemia/lymphoma.
