The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) is seeking a board-certified or board‑eligible pediatric pulmonologist to fill a full‑time position as Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Director in the Department of Pediatrics’ Pulmonology/Sleep Division. Our CF center is accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is the largest in central Illinois with robust research and ongoing quality improvement (QI) projects to provide our patients with the best clinical experience and outcome.

Qualifications:
MD, DO, or equivalent degree; completed 3 years of pediatric residency and 3 years of pediatric pulmonology fellowship; board‑certified or board‑eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology;
Illinois physician’s license or application pending. The position includes working with and leading the CF team in various research projects, optimizing patient experience, teaching medical students and residents, scholarly activities, and providing clinical services for outpatients and inpatient services at OSF Health Care Children’s Hospital of Illinois, UICOMP’s main clinical partner. In addition to cystic fibrosis, the pediatric pulmonology program also includes a home ventilator program, a sleep medicine program, asthma clinics, general pulmonary clinics, flexible bronchoscopy, and pulmonary function testing.

Position SummaryThe University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) seeks a board‑certified or board‑eligible pediatric pulmonologist to serve as Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Director. The role involves leading a multidisciplinary CF team, engaging in research, teaching, and quality improvement, while maintaining clinical care of pediatric patients with cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary conditions.
Duties & Responsibilities – CF Medical Director- Provide care, diagnostic and treatment services to children with cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary conditions, including performing flexible bronchoscopies and interpreting pulmonary function testing when clinically indicated.
- Contribute to educational programs for medical students and residents related to cystic fibrosis and pediatric pulmonology.
- Collaborate with the Adult CF Medical Director and Division Head of Pulmonology/Sleep Medicine.
- Attend the annual CF conference.
- Maintain CF center accreditation requirements.
- Lead interdisciplinary planning to improve clinic function with nursing and other non‑physician staff.
- Develop, revise, and implement strategic plans addressing long‑term teaching and patient care needs.
- Reinforce performance expectations and implement evaluations for residents and attendings.
- Provide administrative/fiscal management for the clinic (budget oversight, formulary review, stakeholder meetings).
- Design and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinic function and clinical care.
- Provide care and treatment services to children with cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary conditions.
- Contribute to educational programs for medical students and residents in pediatric pulmonology.
