Associate Medical Director, Oncology Services

Call schedule is negotiable.

• Position will be based in Peoria, Illinois.
• Primarily General Hematology/Oncology, with the option to incorporate subspecialty focus.
• Multidisciplinary team includes Hematology/Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Breast Surgeons, Colorectal Surgeons, CT Surgeons, nurses, social work, nutrition counseling, and genetics services.
• Weekly disease‑specific tumor boards (Upper GI, Lower GI, Breast, Thoracic, etc.) and strong support from Radiation Oncology and surgical services.
• Accredited by CoC, NAPBC, and NAPRC with a lung interdisciplinary team.
• Ancillary support services and oncology infrastructure available on site.
• Academic and research opportunities at Carle Illinois College of Medicine with faculty rank commensurate with background.
• Generous compensation package within a stable health system.
• Applicants must have at least three years post‑fellowship experience and a leadership interest; prior leadership experience is not required.
• EPIC electronic medical records, including Beacon module, are utilized.

• Recruit physicians in hematology/oncology to support program growth.
• Develop strategic partnerships with physicians and advanced practice providers across specialties.
• Identify opportunities for program growth and networking.
• Lead the oncology program in the West Region and participate in marketing events.
• Report to the Medical Director, Carle Cancer Institute.

• Strong clinical cancer research supported by an NCORP grant from the NCI.
• More than 100 open clinical trials for cancer patients in Central Illinois.
• Home to the Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute and collaborator with the University of Illinois.
• Close collaboration with the University of Illinois Basic Science Cancer Center.
