Become a part of the Viking family! St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School in Peoria, Illinois is seeking a Title I Reading Tutor for the 2026–2027 school year to support and inspire students in a Christ-centered elementary school setting.
The Title I Reading Tutor plays a vital role in helping students strengthen foundational literacy skills and build confidence as readers. Working with individual students and small groups, the tutor provides targeted reading instruction and intervention while supporting students' academic growth and nurturing their love of learning within a faith-filled environment.

Requirements & Responsibilities- Bachelor's degree in education, reading, or a related field.
- Illinois teaching license, paraprofessional license, or ability to obtain appropriate credentials.
- Experience or training in reading instruction or intervention preferred.
- Willingness to support and share the Catholic faith and values of the school.
- Ability to work effectively with individual students and small groups.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Provides targeted Title I reading instruction to individual students and small groups.
- Implements research-based reading interventions aligned with Title I guidelines and school goals.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers and support staff to monitor student progress.
- Maintains documentation and progress records as required by Title I programming.
- Creates a supportive, faith-filled learning environment that encourages growth and confidence.
- Uses a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Communicates regularly with teachers and administrators regarding student progress.
- Performs other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned by the Building Administrator or Superintendent.
- Pay Rate: $35/hour (or as determined by the LEA).
