Career Services’ mission is to empower and support Redbirds to achieve their professional goals by providing resources, experiences, and industry connections. The primary function of the Events and Programming Graduate Assistant is to offer programs and events that link employers and alumni to career development and career readiness opportunities for students. The EPGA plans and implements programs and events, assists with career fairs, and works to aid in achieving the goals of the Career Services department.
The EPGA will assist their direct supervisor, the Program Coordinator for Student Employer and Alumni Engagement, with the planning and execution of programs and events.
- Work with the Employer and Alumni Engagement team to initiate and execute programs to enhance student's overall career readiness.
- Collect and compile data and write reports on programs to be presented in the Career Services Annual Report.
- Co-create assessment instruments to assess program and event outcomes.
- Research and assess recruiting practices specifically for various industries.
- Develop program ideas to assist employers and alumni to support the career development of students.
- Develop outreach activities that encourage students to participate in Career Services programs and events.
- Facilitate in-person and virtual programs and events by conducting pre-event planning, hosting the event, logistical setup support, and closing the event.
- Work with all functional areas of Career Services to promote programs and services.
- Participate in appropriate office teams and committees and assume leadership when requested.
- Participate in evening/weekend career event activities, including all career fairs, Career Services programs, and University events.
- Conduct benchmarking and research on career programs and events – specifically for targeted populations.
- Perform various business functions, including accounts payable and receivables for various career events.
- Participate in Student Relations Team meetings.
- Assist with special projects.

This is a 9.5 month Graduate Assistantship with a contract period from August 4, 2025 - May 8, 2026. As a GA, you will be expected to adhere to the University Administrative Calendar and all expectations as set forth in the offer letter. An extension of this appointment is available, pending satisfactory performance.
