• Salary: $105,000 to $220,000 per year

The individual will contribute to the education of medical students, participate in service opportunities within the department, campus, and college, and actively engage in medical education research and/or scholarly activities.

• Develop and deliver medical physiology and pathophysiology curriculum incorporating clinically relevant principles and technology (modules, video, virtual reality, etc.) to support the undergraduate medical curriculum.
• Employ multiple methods of pedagogy, including case‑based instruction, large and small group discussion, lecture, demonstration, simulation, and team‑based learning.
• Collaborate with faculty from other departments and across UI COM campuses to implement curriculum, including course schedules, materials, and exams.
• Develop, review, and modify formative and summative assessments, including NBME style multiple‑choice questions.
• Engage in medical education scholarship.
• Serve on selected department, campus and college committees or task forces as requested/assigned.
• Facilitate a minimum of 3–4 core cases for each curriculum block in large or small groups.
• Serve in academic leadership roles (Block Lead, Block Director, Course Director).
• Provide an exemplar professional, safe learning environment for medical students.
• Serve as an academic faculty student advisor during pre‑clerkship curriculum.
• Collaborate to develop clinical electives and potential areas of integration into clinical rotation.
• Serve as a student advisor within curricular programs.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

• MD/DO or equivalent, PhD.
• Clinical correlation of broad physiology application.
• Experience in medical education with evidence of strong educational effectiveness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative team player with ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a professional learning environment.

• Demonstrated excellence in medical education.
• Experience in the development and delivery of curricular materials.
• Previous experience with administrative responsibilities in an educational or clinical setting.
• Record of scholarly activity in the area of physiology and/or medical education.
